Meet Craig

Bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for public service, Craig served three terms as State Representative, representing Defiance, Paulding, and Van Wert counties, as well as part of Auglaize County.

Born and raised on a farm near Attica, Ohio, Craig graduated from Seneca East High School before earning a civil engineering degree from The Ohio State University. Craig spent 27 years at Nucor Vulcraft Group, where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of the importance of hard work and dedication.

Throughout his career, Craig has been actively involved in various communities, giving back through coaching youth football, basketball, and baseball teams. Additionally, he was a member of the Defiance St. Mary Pastoral Council and presently serves as a Eucharistic Minister. Craig was also an officer with the Defiance High School Athletic Boosters and is a member of the Defiance Rotary Club. Craig has always been dedicated to volunteering his time with community projects and activities.

Craig and his wife, Danette, have been married for 36 years and have two adult children, Steve and Renee. Both children are graduates of Defiance High School and The Ohio State University. The couple also has three beautiful granddaughters, Ryan, Evie, and Callie. Craig and Danette reside in Defiance and continue to be active in their community.
